Help/advice please!!
Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum and wishing to ask for some advice!!
My boyfriend and I have just brought home a beautiful pup (8weeks) and we're worried about leaving him alone.
Tonight will be our second night home together
He cried/whined for about an hour last night then again at 5am and will also cry every time we leave the room.
We have set him up in a soft play pen downstairs, complete with toys, bed and water.
Will he just settle on his own? And how long will it take for him to settle. His crying makes me so sad and worried.
Any help will be appreciated

Could try putting an item of your clothing in for comfort and put the radio on low that's what we did with ours

We took a blanket to the breeder a few days before we picked up out boy, he put in the mothers bed and Baxter had that in his bed when he came to us. He's 10 months now and still sleeps with it

Re: Help/advice please!!
try putting a radio on low so a bit of back ground noise and may be put a little lavender oil on his blankets as it will calm him down and relax him

Re: Help/advice please!!
Scented items and the radio are all good suggestions. Do try to ignore it as he will settle and the actions you do now will set the rules going forward i.e make a noise get attention.
It's tough love but it will work out ok

Re: Help/advice please!!
Hello and welcome to the forum
Its a new environment and it will be a little scary being alone at first. Good ideas above; radio and blanket. Start as your mean to go on, if you give your pup attention when he whines, he will expect it all the time and cause problems when he's older. It can get quite annoying and its not nice having to ignore them but be patient and he will finally calm down and settle in.
