Next Race

Firle challenge...yet another night in a cold tent... looks like a good race with a bit going through a village lol! that should be fun. saturday night race then final race on the sunday morning. going to be knackerd! anyone in that area? there is going to be canicross, scooter, bikejor and rig racing so lots to see. if anyone is intrested in a day out http://firle-challenge.co.uk/ Im running both dogs this weekend so will be setting off between 18:00 and 18:30 sat. would def recomend watching the rig classes go who run 1 to 6 dogs...

Staffy lover, it looks tropical to our race in derbyshire earlier in the year... I woke and all my clothes had frozen, marley was in my sleeping bag with me and I had to curl around laska to keep her warm. not nice lol.
They have changed the times again but this is the final line up http://firle-challenge.co.uk/entry-list-and-times/ I'm Bib number 106 starting at 17:36. The dryland mushers are out a bit later but looks like a good turn out. should be finished on my run to be able to feed the dogs and bed them up and go watch them myself. as its going to be dark when they are running I guess the village section would probably best to see them.
Inez, 1st? lol I dont think so here, its a brand new race and some of the top guys have turned out for it. I'll just be glad to get around it in one peice

LOL I dont need help crashing mate but think you may like the races. the canicross group has loads of staffies in it. if you see me give me a shout out will try and find you after the race

whoop full results just in! came second both days with fantastic times. sunday was two seconds slower, i thought it was faster (but that could have been down to the hangover )
Well proud of team Staffsky, second fastest time overall of all the bikejor classes as well. loving my two lil nutballs

No problem mate we had a great time and the villagers came out in force. what makes it sweeter was the winner was a traczer dog! he loved my two and was a personal friend of Igor tractz (world champ) who has bred racing dogs on champ level for ages. no shame in coming secoond to this https://youtu.be/L7uFAFEMXU8 greysters and stunning dogs!

and somehow Ive been talked into the national championships in derbyshire this weeked... so tierd but going to go for it. three nights out in the tent...hope the weather holds. have faith in the guys though

Decided against the weekend, its 4 days of racing and i want to rest my guys up after going all out this weekend. they gave me 110% so need some time out to recover. may just pootle them around localy but I have to think of there welfare. we have two more races left at checkendon before the season closes so lots of fun still ahead.

nah no pressure mate, nothing like I've been put under by the variouse groups anyway...seems they all wanna race the guys now.

Im thinking long term, they gave there all for me so I owe it to them to say yay or nay. we are still amatures at the end of the day and although they are working dogs they are formost my pet dogs. blitzing them for 4 days straight after a weekend of balls out action just wouldnt be fair. the glory would be nice but fit and healthy dogs is even nicer IMO. Just gonna take a weekend out and enjoy ourselves

I don't think there's anything better in life than doing something you love with the pooches, especially when there's loads of others too. Great shots mate, I'll watch the vid later.

Thanks Pete and your totaly right, its so much fun being in a field with lots of people that share your passion. when all the dogs get started barking, howling and yipping with no one complaining its pure joy lol. its cool as everyone knows your dog is making that racket for the fun of the run.
