New puppy worries!
Hi everyone! I am new to the forum.
I have a large 8 week old White male staffy - I've never owned a dog myself, my other half has had staffys etc. I've looked after many dogs but never owned one myself.
I think I am having new puppy worries , I feel like I'm not doing things right even though I am doing so much research and looking at other people's problems and seeing advice and taking it in myself.
Is it normal to have new puppy worries or am i just being silly?
Thnx
Sue (:

Re: New puppy worries!
Sounds to me like you're a very responsible new puppy owner. All puppies are different and will learn at different speeds. My first Staff didn't really have any formal training, she just seemed to know what was what, my current Staff is somewhat different and a whole lot more stubborn
I'm quiet sure you are doing things right but the thing to do is tackle one issue at a time. If you're not sure it's working ask on here. There are plenty going through the first anxious months just like you Sue

Re: New puppy worries!
You can never worry too much It's good that you are doing your research as all pups learn in different ways and what works for someone else may not work for you!
Sounds like the little one will be fine! They are very affectionate and intelligent, make the most of the puppy love before he grows up!

Re: New puppy worries!
they are just like children, you never stop worrying about them ,some times with their training its one step forward then 3 steps back, but just keep with what your doing and they do get there,it just takes some a bit longer than others, any questions just ask away

Re: New puppy worries!
Think it's perfectly normal ! I'd never owned a dog until I got my puppy when he was 8 weeks (now 14 mths). I questioned everything !! He's a nutter but he's happy & healthy and gives us SO much love it's ridiculous. Key is - use the forum, I found it SO helpful, and don't overthink things. Always here any time you want to rant or need advice. PS Enjoy the puppy phase
