Lamb ribs - how much can I give?
So I picked up a huge order this morning from Landywoods, and I thought I'd order Scoob a bag of lamb ribs as a bone alternative to chicken wings.
Anyway, when I unpacked the huge sack at home I was shocked at the amount of ribs and the size of some of them.
I was expecting a load of small ribs all separated but no, there is a mixture of small (1cm x 15cm) and huge (4cm x 30cm) - all of which are full racks haha
I've just about managed to get most of them in the freezer (the biggest ones in the bin) due to space.
This leads me to wonder how much am I supposed to give him? A single rib? A whole rack?
I now know what to look out for in his stools if he is consuming too much bone but I still wouldn't want to completely overdo it the first time.
What do you raw feeders do with lamb ribs?
Cheers

Re: Lamb ribs - how much can I give?
I don't give them lamb ribs that often as they're quite fatty and I found they put on weight quite quickly with them. However, when they have had them I've given them the whole chunk as they come in the box.
Have you tried the veal necks? They're smaller chunks and also softer bones so 'meal' rather than gnawing bones. Don't half stink, though!

Bane doesn't really get on well with ribs, but when he did have them he would have his usual dinner and a bone about 3cm x 15cm. We would let him chew it down to about a couple cm and then throw the last little bit away so he didn't choke.
If he is a bit of a scoffer try a single large one and see how he gets on? I'm sure he'd love it if you chucked him the whole rack!

Well so far he's loving them. Crunching them up from frozen in no time.
I've only been giving him one at a time and they're fairly small ones so will increase that a little this week
