Puppy dog food?
I'm thinking of feeding my puppy Orijen Puppy Food.
My question is how much roughly would I be looking to give my puppy a day?
I'm getting a 6.8kg bag and want to kinda know how long that would last so I can add that to my list of how much money I spend etc, I like to keep control how much money I spend a week/month.

Re: Puppy dog food?
It will vary between each dog, size and age of the dog and the food. If you read the back of the bag it should give you a guideline on roughly how much to feed...I did find this, not sure if it is the exact one you are getting:

I think a couple of people feed Orijen on here so they may be able to help.

Re: Puppy dog food?
It's a 8 week old puppy.
I'm not exactly sure what he should be weighing at that age as I've never had a puppy, I've only ever had older staffys.
That is why I was asking this question as I don't want to just fill his bowl up and not know how much I'm feeding if that makes sense.

Re: Puppy dog food?
Can you weigh him? I used kitchen scales and a big bowl when Bane was little!
They all vary in size but I think Bane was about 2-4kg but he was underweight. 150-200g sounds familiar to what we were feeding though.

Re: Puppy dog food?
One problem with feeding a pup is that you have to estimate it's adult weight. You have a chance if you know it's parents, otherwise it's just guess work. Another is you also have to reduce the amount you give as they get older. It's a bit of a mine field but you'll probably find a number on the bag you can ring for advice.

I'm still rather confused to how much I should be giving the puppy and how much the puppy should weigh at 8 weeks old..
