Morning whining
Our girl is 8 months old and is an incessant morning cryer/whiner. Normally it doesn't bother us during the week as we are up early anyway. Lately though, it seems to be getting worse. There is no sleeping beyond 7am on a weekend and now that I am currently unemployed, this is me 7 days a week. I dont want to come across selfish but I'd like suggestions on how to help stop this so that the occasional sleep in was possible. As a new puppy, we didn't have this issue, and it's slowly been getting worse. Ignoring her no loner works whereas it used to if we let her cry it out for 10min. We keep her in a separate part of the house overnight, not in our bedroom, and I know she just wants to be with us but our bed is not a sleep zone for her.
I know staffys are known to be vocal but she could wake up the whole neighbourhood with her whinging tears. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions?

Re: Morning whining
it is some thing they grow out off, they just want to be with you!could you and your partner not take it in turns at the weekends so you each have a lay in?take her for a early morning walk to tire her out and then back to bed for a hour !what time is her last walk of the day?

Re: Morning whining
Just make her final walk a bit later alternatively playing with toys to tire her out is another option as i realise people are setting fireworks off

Re: Morning whining
I hope you are right Stella about growing out of it.
Ahhhh ok yes, that's a great idea. I honestly didn't even think about the later walk thing, as we were focussing on the whining itself. Later walk results in being sleepy longer. She was being walked after work before it gets dark so about 6pm but sometimes it's earlier now as I'm off. Interesting. Thanks guys! Will definitely give that a go now that it's spring. Maybe take her after dinner instead of before.
Haha Hannah&Michael. My pup stops us on walks to talk to people. I have never been so friendly with strangers before haha.

Re: Morning whining
Ohh and she also tends to snooze on the couch with us after dinner so she generally sleeps on and off for a couple of hours before our bed time which thinking of it now obviously that doesn't help.
