Whining in the car
Whenever we take Suki out to the park in the morning or afternoon she whines the whole way in the back seat. We ignore it and it has gotten a little better over time. Just wondering if anyone else has a dog that does this.

She does that as well just can't stop the whining but it has improved as she aged.

Jethro loves the car and just sits or lies down the whole time ( it is only when we leave him in it to go to the shop that he is liable to do something he shouldn't !! )
..anyway when Winston first started going in the car he made allsorts of weird and wonderful noises...but I think that Jethro's behaviour has rubbed off on him as he is no where near as vocal now!

Re: Whining in the car
Ellie seems to enjoy the car -although she does tend to jump around and should be harnessed-We had a lovely lab called Cally who passed away at New Year and even after 12 years she couldn't get used to the car at all and whined on every journey. I think some just don't like to travel by car

Re: Whining in the car
We had to cut short a trip today because of this. We were supposed to be visiting Andy's brother in Norwich but Rocky had other ideas. We got about 20 miles into the trip and had to turn back. It's the constant whining we cannot stand.
Rocky had his breakfast at about 8.00 this morning, then out for a walk at about 9.30 then we set off at about 11.30 we were due to be at destination at lunchtime 13.00. No way.
We even stopped off at Woodgreen animal shelter on the way back to get some DAP spray (Dog Appeasing Pheromone). We will try this sometime and let you know how it goes.

Wow, I will not complain anymore. Monte does only when he sees another dog. I have very decorated windows in my car as well...

Re: Whining in the car
Saxon starts to whine when we get a mile or so from the dog park, and he recognizes where we are going.

okay I am sounding like a broken record here but have you tried a thundershirt??
I know it says can help with travel anxiety on the packet..might be worth considering.
Wish it was cooler here..Jethro would be wearing his day AND night!

She is getting better but I think she believes we are going to the park everytime we get in the car. Well come to think of it we are going there 95% of the time. She's probally just excited but it's really loud sometimes
