Thinking of getting a new puppy staff, we've already got a 7 year old staff male he is very placid, what are your view on this? And do you think he would feel pushed out/jealous?

hia sarah, does your boy get on ok with other dogs,if he is half the battle done, may be a female would be good to get,as some say they get on better, others have the same sex thou and are fine,he may feel a bit put out to begin with but introduce them properly and make sure he has the same routine and attention as normal and should be fine,

Thanks stella for your reply will take it onboard, when out walking other dogs they don't bother him, saying that he doesn't like going for walks Laughing

Never ad 2 together so no experience, I think though with your baby being 7 years old he/she knows manners and will be fine Big Grin

If you introduce carefully I think you'll be fine. I would think your older male would be fine with a female pup as long as you are there to supervise for the first few weeks. Smile

we have introduced a pup to our 12 year old rescue staffy who has been with us for about 7 years, unfortunately she doesnt like the pup,i think its the fact that shes too old to have a pup pestering her when all she wants is a quiet life

Snoop was really laid back and i always thought he would be fine with another dog but when we had my mum dog for a week he hated it and wanted it gone Laughing
Not sure how lula would be with a new dog coming in

My sisters dog was pretty DA but they got a pup and he was fab with it

Has your dog shared a home with another dog before, or only spent time with them on walks? Are you planning on getting a male or female?
