vaccination dangers Empty vaccination dangers

Post by sunnylounger Sat Oct 11 2014, 16:38

Hi, I'm collecting my puppy end of November at 8 weeks old  Smile  she will of had her first vaccination and worming.
I've been reading a lot about how bad vaccinations are and that there not really needed, overly used by vets who make large profits from them, to be honest I never even thought about them and there dangers with my last dog, but I don't want to give the puppy anything she doesn't need.

I was just wondering if anyone had looked into the puppy/adult vaccinations if there really needed  doh

Thanks

Heard about this recently.

Check their immunity to see if they need vaccines.

I have read up about this too - I vaccinate with the core vaccines every 3 years and lepto every year. Some people do, some don't. But I volunteer with kennel dogs and so likely to come into contact with parvovirus etc. Titer tests are useful for checking immunity and seeing if a vaccine is required - I plan to do this at the 3 year point and make a decision regarding whether to vaccinate from there. I've seen dogs die from parvo and it spreads like wildfire. Some vets will recommend yearly vac for all core vaccines which IMO is wrong and could do damage - I follow the manufacturers guidelines - which states every 3 years and yearly for lepto. As we walk rurally: swim in wild rivers on the moors, I do vaccinate for lepto.
