There's so many things dogs shouldn't have nowadays, it's a mystery how dogs have lasted this long with the things they used to get fed before the internet. I just hope toast is ok, banes likes his morning piece of toast x

Thanks for sharing and Rhia, I understand where you are coming from, Pixee likes peanut butter on toast sometimes. When I think back to when I was little, the things my dad use to feed the dogs with, they always had a morning cup of tea and human food now and then, and all dogs were healthy.

I wonder how much of this stuff is like the stories you see in the media about Human health.
One day a glass of wine per day is good for you, the next day its bad etc.
Because you are totally responsible for your dog you just can't take the chance!

^^^ I know, if I gave banes something I was told not to and he got injured I'd be feeling so guilty.
My mum had 5 kids, none of us ate liver but she thought we all did, surprised the dogs lived so long with all that vitamin a!!
Looking back on it, maybe they would of lived a lot longer if we knew then what we know now,

Strangely enough most artificial sugar replacements are also 'poisonous' to humans!! Xylitol (as in report!) causing loose and frequent bowel movements because our body cannot process it! Saccharine are linked to Brain tumours and the worst yet probably the most used is aspartame! That stuff when heat up to a certain temperature (as in a tea or coffee!) turns into a form of formaldahyde! Essentially starting any embalming service off a bit earlier than required! It is illegal in Japan, about the only reason it is still legal is because it is used and backed by some of the worlds biggest food and drink companies! x x x x

This is spot-on! You will not immediately get sick from consuming this junk but over time it is toxic for humans too! They are banned in my house, for myself, my children and our dog.
I find it less strange and more disappointing that this junk and MANY MANY other processed foods in our supermarkets continue to be sold because of the influence of big food and drink companies. I'm looking at you Margarine!
