I want to relocate my girl and build in a wooden crate, she currently, lives in an insulated wire crate in a leanto attatched to the house, my thoughts are to go with a white (kitchen cupboard type) board inside, still insulate it and then an outside finish to please the wife lol
my thought is that while not airtight it will be a lot more so than the wire crate with a towel over the door, I don't know weather to stick with the wire door idea or put in vents in a wooden door.... what do you people use ?
Thanks for looking.

Only ever used a wire crate with a proper cover that zips up all the way over Smile

Hi maybe it's a lot warmer in Kent, but here in Edinburgh it feels that it would be difficult for a short-haired dog like the SBT (which feels the cold) to live happily outside. However, there is some very helpful advice elsewhere on this website (called Keeping Your Stafford Outside) which may give some ideas: http://www.staffy-bull-terrier.com/keeping_your_stafford_outside

Yes it may well be a lot warmer here, she loves her current home Which is insulated better than some houses, during the coldest tempretures we get here it is nice in there, the temprature is cool in summer and warm in winter, my question was about ventilation and how others do it, when they have built there own sleeping quarters for thier dog also what materials others use.
