I just found a lump on Taz

It wasn't there yesterday and its a fist full its on his chest where his neck meet his chest usually you can fell a hard bony part at a point, its moveable, theres no wound there or opening of any kind, its not hurting him when i press or move it around, he's fine in him self infact i just found it when i was playing with him on the floor.
Could it just be a fatty lump?
you should be able to notice it.

it hard to tell it could be a fatty lump give it a week, if it get bigger or if it still there take hi mto the vets, my old sam was cover in fatty lump

for it to get so big over night im pretty sure it wasn't there last night and definatly not the night before because i gave them all massages

I'd say vets. If it was a fatty lump then it would take a little while to build up, not overnight.

It could be a slight scratch that has developed a puss build-up. You'll not be able to see the scratch, but dirt could have been introduced & caused a reaction. If that's the case, it's very easily dealt with.

Tali has something just like this on her chest. We went to bed late one night and she was fine, woke up to find that huge lump on her and her struggling to breath. Took her tempereture and she was burning up, we took her straight to the vets and he said it was an infection maybe caused by an insect bite/sting. she had an injection and some antibitotics think it cost about £50, scared the living hell out of me though!

How is Taz, did you manage to go to the vet ?

I called the vet and they said to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't change then to take him down.
i mentioned he is always using his chest to play fight and hitting other things so it might being swelling to protect his chest bone if he hit it too hard etc which should go down in a few days but if it doesn't then it is something else and i will be taking him to find out.

does it move around can you grip it with your fingers?? if so its prob a cyst is it attached to any muscle or bone get him checked out ASAP just to be on the safe side .

I thought Moo had a cyst not so long back but it was a benin (sp) tumour! Its still there but should go by itself in about 6 weeks time, not nice but I'm pleased I got it checked x

good for you i am forever checking buster for bumps and stuff after loosing my rosie

we moved house in december and in late january i found a lump on her front leg at the joint it had always been the size of a pea but had doubled in size to which i rushed her off the vets and was told it was a mass cell tumour and a very bad cancer i do belive the stress from moving bought it on as she was an abused little baby by her fellow toss pots of owners , my vet advised me to operate but after weeks of research she would'nt of lasted 12 month as her immune system was failing her and that could'nt have been corrected so she had a chippy tea every friday and was loved to bits untill the day came when she left us .

lumps and bumps are very common in staffs and its always best to get them checked asap

Rosie had a happy 2 and a half years with you I'm a worry bead and would rather pay for peace of mind x x x

Chloe had a spot which would not heal on her side about 2 yrs ago... They operated as they thought it could be cancer, but it wasn't luckily

It could be a hematoma as you say they were playing rough just before

Any news on Taz ?

The lump hasn't changed in size but it has in texture it is moveable in my hand and there seems to be alot of fluid around the actual lump itself and the lump is a weird shape too not round more like to circles bumps joint together with like a tail its only a little smaller than the palm of my hand.
I'v got a vets appointment wednesday morning so ill let you know.
He seems "almost" fine in himself he still plays down the allotment but not as much as he normally would, he's sleeping alot more than usual and wants my attention all the time, I know he's telling me there is something wrong i tried four different vets and none of them got an appointment earlier than wednesday which got to be the pdsa, if it gets worse its going to have to be emergency vets i think.

He's got vets wednesday
nothing much has changed except the texture of the lump there is no longer any fluid around the lump but its still the same size.
It has moved though it used to be right on his chst bone but now it has moved downwards slightly so i think it is just a fatty lump well i am hoping it is.

How did Taz go on at the vet ?x

The lump had pretty much gone by this morning but you could still feel something was there, the vet reckons its scare tissue/from using his chest to much when playing etc, but to keep an eye on it and if it swells back up take him back down.

Good news, I'm so glad for you and Taz lets hope it's gone for good now
