Help with forgetting her toilet training
Hi our staffy (female almost 3 years old) has been starting to regress with her toilet training. Before the last couple of weeks she had only once poo'd indoors and that was the first day when she was a puppy. She mastered weeing outdoors quite quickly after that.
However in the last week or so at night time she's started weeing indoors regularly at night and theres even been 3 occasions where she has poo'd. She gets two long walks a day and is let out first thing in the morning and last thing at night. However, she only ever does it at night even though she's been out directly before. I think I know the reason, she's never really liked the rain and with it raining so much recently when she goes out she goes directly into her kennel and doesn't do her business. I've tried stay out there in the rain with her and stopping her going into the kennel, but after 15mins it was clear she wasn't going to do anything and both of us were drenched!
Anyone have any bright ideas about a staffy that won't do their business in the rain?!?

Re: Help with forgetting her toilet training
Oh dear no they hate the rain, what do you clean the pee and mess up with as they will keep going in the same place. Biological washing powder mixed with water will help break down the enzymes. Try that and she may not have the tendancy to go where she has before, hence then going outside

Have you considered using pads?

I'll try washing the areas with the biological powder but she doesn't do it in the same place each time so not sure if that will be particularly successful.
What are pads?

Re: Help with forgetting her toilet training
I literally used to stand outside with Daisy until she did it, with her on the lead to keep her out there! Repeating our toilet phrase over and over. Now she will go out on her own, reluctantly! I've had her nearly 2 years so its taken time!

Re: Help with forgetting her toilet training
Bug is the same, her toilet training always goes backward in winter. She knows a toilet command, so, we put her outside and give her the command, then spy on her from the kitchen window occasionally repeating it. She now knows the quicker she goes, the quicker she can come back in! So she runs out and wees really fast!!
Does she get off lead time on walks to sniff/mark/wee on everything to properly empty her bladder?

Oh how they hate the rain I will stand out with Katy blocking her access to the house & repeat our toilet phrase & tell her she's not going in until she goes. It works once they realise the longer they take the wetter they get

Re: Help with forgetting her toilet training
Personally, I'd work on the outdoor toilet training. Puppy pads will just encourage her to go inside more when she should be only going outside at this age x
