Preparing for the pup!
Hey guys!
Just got the news that Harley is coming to me a little earlier than expected (literally the day after she turns 8 weeks), so I have to kind of kickstart everything haha!
I have a little food worry between what I know and what I'm reading on the internet. I'd like some opinions and advice, baring in mind that she is a puppy!
The breeder has her on Wags dry puppy food only, no wet food, just dry. My parents have always mixed wet food in with dry food, but it seems a lot more common for people to feed their dogs purely dry food, is there any reason this is better, or is it just preference? Would you recommend putting her on wet food at some point or just stay with dry?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions already, but searching online isn't helping at all!

Also please have a look around the website. There is great info on training, diet, and most every other issue that can arise.

Re: Preparing for the pup!
Dry food has all the ingredients needed and will keep the teeth cleaner. I feed a mix of both, dry for breakfast and a mix for dinner.
I guess it depends on your lifestyle really. We choose the mix because we want to give her variety, imagine just eating muesli every day, you'd get bored with it. Not saying its wrong though.
There are an awful lot of people that feed raw, I think my girl would love raw but it doesn't fit with us and our trips out etc.
I guess you have to work out what your fur friend likes and how that fits with you

Re: Preparing for the pup!
Hi there, I would switch from wag as soon as you can as it's not a very good food, full of additives and fillers. This is our recommended list but jameswelbeloved and wainwrights are also good at a reasonable price

This is also a good site for comparing food

If you do change just do it gradually over a couple of weeks to avoid an upset tummy!
I feed raw now but always added either some wet food or tinned sardines/mackeral or egg to dry or Daisy wouldn't eat it!
This link may also be of interest but as j said above there is loads if info on the website
