Problems with a poops Empty Problems with a poops

Post by Zero Thu Aug 21 2014, 18:45

Hi,

Zero is having problems with his going number 2, basically he's not going, he hasn't been for over 2 days now, which isn't normal as he usually goes 1 or 2 times a day.

He is also coughing alot as if something is stuck in his throat, though we haven't seen him pick anything up so not sure if it's related. He hasn't eaten much over the last 2 days either as he has been sick the two times we did feed him a few minutes after. Though he has had a cooked chicken breast tonight and hasn't been sick we fed him around 5:30pm so been just over an hour now with no signs.

He doesn't seem to be in any pain anywhere, he's running round and playing as normal and is just as excitable as usual. So no out of character signs or feeling down.

We thought it was allergies at first since he has been coughing abit and had a weepy eye but since it has been a few days and not cleared up we're unsure.

We started him on Piriton last week, giving him half a tablet a day he had these for about 7 days then this started happened on Tuesday so we stopped giving him them for now (2 days since last) to see if it was these causing it.

Just came on here to ask if anyone has experienced something similar or would be able to advise with any help.
Hoping to not have to take him to the vets.

Thanks,
Zero

Hi there, so was this happening on the piriton that you thought it could be those and thus he hasn't been for longer than 2 days? (Sorry, just a little confused).

I would advise a trip to the vet

Something doesn't sound right, I'd agree on a vet visit x

Agree... Vets. Something isn't right if he's being sick after eating. Might be something simple like constipation but could equally be an obstruction. Best get him checked to be safe.

I'd agree with a trip to the vet just to be safe. You could try calling them first to see if they think you should come in.

Hi,

Thanks for replies.

He finally did a poop last night, though some of it was black, so we're still watching him.

Turns out when my parents had him the other day, he had eaten part of a lilly from their garden. So we know what was causing him to be sick atleast.

He's still abit coughy at the moment but was much more himself once he'd been to the toilet. Though if he's not better tomorrow we'll be taking him for a visit to the vet.

Looks like he's still abit sick. Didn't want to walk or eat his food at the moment.

Spent most of the day sleeping today.
