Meg's a bit poorly today :(

Got up this morning and took Meg out for our usual walk, and quickly noticed that Meg wasn't quite herself.  Her tail was drooping and she wasn't wagging it and she was generally looking sorry for herself.  see pic below



I've done a bit of research and it would seem it's a condition called Limber Tail (or sprained tail).  It can be caused by overexertion or swimming in cold water amongst other possible causes.  Best remedy from the information I can find, is rest up and if it doesn't improve over a few days, visit the vet for a confirmation diagnosis and anti-inflammatory drugs.  Just thought;

A) Has anyone else seen this before

and

B) If, you haven't, you have now

I will try to make sure Meg rests up and doesn't get too over excited and keep you posted.

Yes I have heard of it, although it isn't always the cause, when Moo had the infection her tail did the same thing.

I hope after some rest Meg is feeling more herself Xx

She is eating and drinking as normal, so I'm not worried on that front. Maybe a coincidence that she was playing in the water the day before...

Bless her, they are a worry at times! But good post even for the wrong reasons Xx

I've heard of it before and that rest is the way forward. Good luck resting a Staff tail

How's Megs tail today Daz ?

She's a bit more 'waggy' today, much better than yesterday, but still not 100%. She been supervising me most of the day as I've been in the garden digging out some concrete.

Sounds like shes going in the right direction, tomorrow hopefully even better.

Meg now has her 100% wagability back and has started to chase her tail again. Happy days!
