I always walk in a harness for extra safety as a collar can slip off our staffys easily with their thick necks  Smile

I use a Harness. The only reason I do is that Flo can get out of a collar and I want to be able to control her if needs be. We have also tried different Harnesses as she is quiet the escape artist too.

I use a gentle leader, which goes round neck and muzzle only cause I like to be in control of the teeth part  Big Grin

I walk Rocky on a harness and a collar, it is a legal requirement for your dog to wear a collar with a ID tag on when out on walks. We use the harness now when he is in the car so he is safely secured. We use the EzyDog collar and harness with chestplate as he can escape from some harnesses.

Collar? Harness or halti ? Empty Re: Collar? Harness or halti ?

I used a harness, and it rubbed Meg a bit sore under her legs. then I tried a collar, but she pulls like a train, so ended up with the halti. My shoulders are no longer sore from pulling her back (no amount of trying to get her to walk to heel has worked-treats, biscuits I've tried the lot). The downside is, uneducated people must think it's a muzzle and avoid us like the plague  Sad

We use a harness the first rubbed and made Lula sore. i bought the padded trixie harness that does not rub and its suppose to stop them pulling. TBH Lula seems to pull less with it and it has stop her trying to play tug with the lead a lot.
