Re: cleaning a dog who hates the bath
Flo only gets a bath when she is absolutely filthy or stinks
We pop her in the bath and shower her, she doesn't like it much but will turn around so we can do both sides on the promise of treats

Re: cleaning a dog who hates the bath
I only bath Biscuit 2/3 times a year (usually when she has rolled in something or thrown herself in a bog!) she also doesn't like it, but will stand still in the bath looking miserable for a few minutes whilst we wash her! We just encouraged her with lots of praise, plus she loves the towel drying at the end

Re: cleaning a dog who hates the bath
Rocky has only had one bath since we have had him, we just stood him in the bath and used the shower to give a good rinse. We didn't use any shampoo just warm water, too much shampooing can strip the hair of essential oils in the dogs coat causing it to dry out.

Toots hates water with a passion.
She will take a wide berth round puddles.
On her first walk she had muddy feet so put her in the sink to wash them. She freaked out!
Dreading when she heals and has to go swimming to build her muscles up

1 bucket, 1 sponge, 1 watering can. In the garden a quick sponge over with a mild aloe vera dog shampoo, then a rinse off with the watering can... followed by a wild game of a rub a dub the Rolo with the towel...The towel normally loses It's a great game and he doesn't mind bath time so much now

Re: cleaning a dog who hates the bath
Ledger hates the rain but quite likes a warm shower his first experience was at my parents they have a walk in so I just went in with him and shut us in. He now always comes for a nosy when I have a shower but only has one himself if he rolls in something nasty he isn't a smelly dog at all

Moo just has a rinse in the shower after being in the canal as she stinks - fortunate enough I can say 'Moo bath time' and she gets in on her own accord

Walked Flo to the small park tonight and someone had put a bath on their drive... I swear I have never seen Flo swerve so wide

Dizzy isn't a big fan and only gets a bath if he is filthy, he has had two since we got him the first one he was ok and just stood there but we had only had him a few days and I don't think he knew what was going on. The second one he was muddy as and he hated every minute and kept jumping out. My suggestion - old clothes!
He loves his towel though thinks that is a great game!
