advice please. concerned
Bit of a random question everyone.
On and off through life ive had bouts of very bad anxiety.
Im going through it now again, it started 2 weeks ago and it has progressed.
My question is can it be affecting my three yr old staffy male ( hasnt been castrated btw) he seems very dominant and territorial over the past three days and has started growling at my bf when he visits ( bf isnt cause of my anxiety btw)
Just looking for a bit if advice guys

They do pick up on your moods so it could definately have an affect on him.

Hiya! Sorry you're going through a rough patch. I've suffered from an anxiety disorder from a young age and my dog definitely picks up on it. She's a rescue from a poor background and is very defensive/fearful anyway, but she's certainly worse when I'm not feeling great.
I've almost mastered faking it now! I try and keep commands the same/ routine the same/tone of voice this same. I tell her off with a "no!" and ignore if she acts up ( it's mostly towards men) and ensure that she knows that the behaviour is not acceptable and I can handle the situation. Usually by telling no and putting her behind me in a sit whilst I apologise/ explain!!
However, how old is he? May be coincidence if he's got other things going on! Has he ever done anything like this before?
