Ooh poor baby, first off what are you feeding her? a lot of skin problems are from diet. I have had these problems and now use Viacutan plus oil on Vins food which seems to work very well. When you have a minute come and say hi here xx

Re: What could her skin condition be?
Yes complete and wagg , that's the only one she will eat , she's picky when it comes to other dry food and this is the only one that really works for her , she has this twice a day

Re: What could her skin condition be?
Sorry but theres your problem get her off it asap, you will have to do it gradually though, here is a list of complete foods and do invest in the Viacutan plus oil I get mine from Amazon give her 4 squirts for a few weeks and then cut down to 2 but every day on her food.

Thanks a lot , do you think this could be the cause of her boils and hair loss

Re: What could her skin condition be?
Almost definitely, just make sure you change it bit by bit over a couple of weeks, until she is on the new food all together. If she is picky then a little scrambled egg (fresh eggs made with no milk) or sardines on there just to tempt her. Do try this asap and please let us know how things are going xx

Re: What could her skin condition be?
A couple of our Dogo Argentino's had this problem and it was diet as well as an allergy to shampoo. Like yours, ours didn't seem to be affected with itchiness although the sores did look very sore.
Once we switched to a high quality grain free food, their skin really improved and healed. We found that chicken and eggs also caused a reaction, so eliminated those too with great success.
The medicated shampoos never worked our boys and even the hypoallergenic types seemed to aggravate their skin so ended up only washing them with plain water.
Also try to make sure that his drinking water is not from the tap as I've heard some dogs with skin issues can have sensitivities to the chemicals in there like the fluoride and chlorine. Once they switched to bottled or filtered water, their skin issues improved or disappeared.

Hi Diane I have wondered about Vins skin reactions on his face and chin, whether its the tap water as its only on his face.

What sort of water or food bowl does he use? I heard that plastic bowls are bad and can cause infections because it can breed bacteria so have always used stainless steel bowls after we were told that. If he's using stainless steel bowls, maybe try filtered bottled water.

Re: What could her skin condition be?
Stainless steel bowls yes, will try filtered as I wonder if it splashes on his face that's what irritates it. Our water here is very hard the amount of kettles we go through because of the lime scale

The water could be it then. No harm in changing it to see if it makes a difference
