Sticks

Just wanted to give a word of warning. I was throwing sticks for axl yesterday and one got stuck in the mud upright when he was throwing it around after bringing it back, he nearly speared himself through the mouth. Luckily he's okay but just wanted to say be careful with sticks!

My vet warned that most accidents with dogs are sticks related

Yeah I didn't even think about it to be honest. Poor fella he yelped so loudly and ran to me bless him. No more stick throwing think I will stay with tennis balls x

Moo loves sticks also, I bought a safestix and Moo isn't interested in it - just finds a stick. Pleased all was ok for you Xx

Axl loves sticks too but they really are a hazard I had no idea how dangerous they can be!

Glad he is okay. Suki loves sticks as well. Not so much to fetch but to eat.

Oh no! My OH always wants to throw sticks for bis but I heard some horror stories at the vets and don't let him lol if we stop in a walk she usually finds a stick to have a good chew on though

Glad Axl is okay. The splinters from sticks can get trapped in the gut too.

We use the Stix for safety and because Flo eats real ones  .. Must admit they do look suspect but we only use it as a fetch item otherwise it would be destroyed in mins.
