Re: getting a bitch spayed
Its more medical than behavioural with a bitch. Testosterone is the loopy drive with males and even then castration isnt guaranteed to cure that. Females are generally more calmer and less driven than males but they do have an incredible passion for companionship and dogs like staffs especially love to show there love for you and they can be quite needy sometimes. Show them any attention and they will treat you like the long lost friend they havent met before.. its a breed trait and why they are loved so much.

Re: getting a bitch spayed
Spaying/neutering is more of a supplement for behaviour that should be used alongside an exercise and training plan, it won't train them for you. I noticed definite changes in my bitch after spay but she had been used as a breeding machine for years before I took her in an her hormones were really out of whack.

Re: getting a bitch spayed
As said no real concrete evidence, my Brothers Beagle was spayed before her 1st season and it doesn't seem to have calmed her down too much

I don't know if there is any evidence of this having any effect on a dogs behaviour.
