Moving back to UK-worrying about Debo. Empty Moving back to UK-worrying about Debo.

Well, life in Poland turns out to be not so great. So we are going back to UK. My OH's gonna go first and Debo and I will go there 3mnth later. Debo is our dog and I know he loves us both but my OH spend more time with him, his work hours allow him to do it. When he has evening shift, Debo will wait for him to come home, before coming to bed( debo always sleep with us). I'm cutting my work hours so after my OH' s gone I can spend more time with Debo. How can I make it easier for him? The plan is my OH will come to visit us for few days so Debo will know that his daddy didn't leave him. I'm really worried.

Never tried anything like that so no idea how Rocky would react. I would hope he would soon settle into some kind of routine.

An article of clothing with his smell on it will ease the transition. Also try to spoil him a bit the first few days alone. He will probally miss him for a few days but will soon throw all his affection your way. Staying on a routine also helps.

Thanks you. Was thinkig if I should let him off the lead for few days. His recall is good but he did run after my OH's car once.

If his recall is good and the area is safe that may help as well

Good bonding opportunity! A few unsettled days and a bit of whining maybe. Not sure the visit is wise. May have to go through any problems twice over.

Be positive and this will hopefully rub off on Debo. Good Luck.

Moving back to UK-worrying about Debo. Empty sorry to nudge in

Post by nishma Sat Apr 12 2014, 10:15

heya
sorry to push on the same subject for over a year here (if anyone remembers) but i'm just so worried i gotta ask.. - are you at all worried about problems entering the uk? or simply having all the correct paperwork , saying staffy , is keeping you care free?

and to not be totally rude Tongues i'll add - i'm sure after 2-3 days he'll be perfectly fine, perhaps he'll bond with you even more, and just think about how happy he'll be when reunite time comes ! Smile

I'm sure Debo will be fine, when I'm away the girls keep looking for me but they settle down.

Nishma as long as the paperwork and vaccinations are ok there shouldn't be a problem as Staffs aren't a banned breed. This might help https://www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad

The returning to UK is no a problem, Debo doesn't have to have pedgree. We did go out and bact to UK with Debo with no issuse. I was only worried about my OH leaving, because Debo's really close with him.
