well i was a big brave girl tonight and decided woody was going off lead on the field no matter how many other dogs were about.all was going well, he was coming back when told and having a good old time of until..................... he spotted a tiny white german shepherd puppy running after a ball. he focused in and it was like my voice was silent, the mist had descended, i even tried my usual trick of running away from him but he wanted that ball! Woody ran a fair old distance with me huffing and puffing behind over to the dog and then..............he just sniffed let the pup pick up his ball and carried on chasing round the field with him. Pup was only 41/2 months and owner was ok with having a massive bulky staff chasing her pup so all was well. it taught me a lesson that actually Woody is better with other dogs than i give him credit for and i need to trust him.

It is hard with trusting your dogs. Soon as my puppy sees another dog she doesnt listen n carries on runnin but wen i practice re calls with her on our own shes really good just not when other dogs are around

Well done, Woody! They're often better off lead than on. The only reason I don't let Dempsey off near other dogs is that I can't get him back! Selective deafness, single mindedness and sheer stupidity all come into play!
