slipt nail
Morning all
This happed friday 14/03/14
I have 2 year old female staffy other day there i was up stairs cleaning the bedroom's the youngest one Marley was next to me like she all ways is when am up moving about in the house i noticed her bk right paw was of the floor had to look twice and me been me i paniced lol,I phoned my other half paul as i thought she had broke her leg so he came home he phone the vet stright away . we got a appointment stright away so got marley in to her harrness in to the car and up to the vets,we waited 15 mins to see the vet while Marley was letting the other dog's hear her wee high pitch noises ofcourse we were getting the look's from people who no nothing off these dog's plus the vet's is within the pet shop so rather busy with been a friday afternoon...
So by this time Marely was a we bit stressed out finally the vet came to take us in to the room,he checked Marley all over pulling and lifting her wee leg right up so could tell nothing was broke till i picked her right paw up touched one of her pads by then Marley was hiding her face in my chest poor we thing was scared/sore but the vet could see that she had split her nail right up as her nail's on her back paws are very low with the way she dart's about and scraping..So that's why she could not walk right the vet said leave it few days see if nail grows out bit and if she puts her paw but failing that she will need to go back in and go under and get her nail cut off up to the bone OUCH so hopefully all will be great in a few day's....

Re: slipt nail
Aww bless her, hope it heals on its own. Daisy ripped one of her back nails last year and I just rested her for a few days and kept it clean by bathing with salt water and it did heal xx
