Dog steps??
Has anyone ever bought them? Moo really struggles to get up on the sofa/bed, the sofa is ok now as I have a foot stool that she uses as a step but I have to lift her onto the bed (heartbreaking at her age) so I thought I would get some steps so at least if I am out she can access where she pleases. Just wondered if anyone else has Xx

I'v seen many used and as long as they are introduced well they work a treat.
Last i heard of Moo she was a fit active girl, what happened if you don't mind me asking she's so young.

Re: Dog steps??
When Vin was little and couldn't get up on the bed to be with us we just got him one of these. He still uses it to this day and when they've been playing silly beggers and one or the other has a limp or pulls something occasionally, they'll both use it - it's come in really handy x

Re: Dog steps??
Aww little Moo because of her arthritis? I haven't used them but used to use a little foot stool as well when Biscuit had her tumours removed and couldn't jump up onto to anything!

I tried with my previous dog but she never really took to them since she knew I would just pick her up

I know bless her! You wouldn't know she had bad joints if you saw her out and about, its as if she doesn't have a problem, she has arthritis quite severely but I have been managing it really well, it is purely climbing up on things she struggles with and this has only started happening in the past few months so as she kinda has steps onto the sofa I thought steps to the bed would be a good idea

Re: Dog steps??
just a thought :
( after thinkin' of getting some steps for a friends chihuahua ..
( though never did get around to it
you could somehow measure her comfortable step .. stride/height ..
approach a woodworker and get some custom made ..
maybe one's that could fold flat for storage
rekon they should be rigid solid .. i.e. not wobbly at all
so she feels secure on them
recently took 'lady' up some metal steps ..
i.e. open landings .. and they 'moved' ( vibrated ) when walking up them ..
it were a metal structure attached to the outside of a building
'lady' froze and hugged the 'ground' .. obviously they scared her ..
a folding or sliding-compact ramp .. like made for dogs getting into cars ..
might be an idea .. might be easier for her to walk up a 'ramp'
i suppose space-wise a ramp might be inconvenient in the house .. depending on available room

Re: Dog steps??
I was going to suggest going round the caravan / camping stores, they sell so many different steps. We have a caravan, so have 2 steps to get into our caravan, which Pixee loves to sit on but in a funny way, she sits her cute bum on the top one, and relaxes with her front legs on the lower step. You can glue carpet down on them if you wanted. But you have found some nice ones, so happy stepping for lovely Moo to bed now.

Re: Dog steps??
I decided not to go for the ones I saw, I read the comments and also from advice here that they can be very flimsy. I have seen some steps for humans, like the ones you mentioned Lynn so will be going for some of those, thanks for the help Xx

Re: Dog steps??
Piggie is scared of them, but if Moo wouldn’t be frightened there are some really nice ones out there! Get the firm ones like you plan to do. The flimsy ones would put her off for good.

Re: Dog steps??
I must thank you! Decided not to go for some flimsy one and whilst I shopped around I decided to try her old plastic bed up side down (been under my bed for years), covered it in her blanket and by the look of it has done the trick (wondered where she had gone!) Xx
