One step forward ten steps back....

That's how I feel at the moment. Axl has been good for weeks not growled or snarled at anything and just as my confidence in him returned he went bezerk at a little white dog this morning. It was quite a way away and he's seen it up close before, even walked past it but today he was a little sod. Sometimes I wish I knew what sets him off its so erratic

Yeah they do lol. I think he's blinking loopy lol. Funny thing is it's always with me that he does it, never with my boyfriend or our dog walker (as far as I know). I think he suddenly thinks he's got to protect me or something. Or maybe i'm transmitting nervous energy to him subconciously. I do try to relax the lead when I see a dog and usually I get his attention with a biscuit, this morning I was a little bit slow off the mark when I saw the dog so it could be that. Who knows!

maybe he is just a little uptight or frustrated. maybe the white dog was a bithc and maybe has came into season. could have been anything that set him off as my diesel would run through walls just to get to my lexy before she was spayed.

but I hope hes back to normal soon

I know how you feel Debs. My Flo can do something completly random at times and you just think what !!

The only thing that I have found to work every time is to use her stick as a distraction, especially when I see her go in to stare mode (doesn't happen very often thankfully)

Have you got a special stick for her Ian? I think I remember you talking about it and if I remember correctly it's not the usual wood stick... I may be going crazy though and made that up!

You're not imagining it Debs

She has a Kong Stix. There are 3 sizes and she has the medium. Beware though, it won't last long if you leave it with them. We only use it as a fetch toy which is why it has such appeal I think.

How's he getting on?

He's okay at the moment Rach he's been behaving himself. I'm trying to be a bit tougher on him because he did get away with a lot from me but not anymore lol! He's a funny one as he can be good for ages then go off at a random dog it's very strange. For now though we seem to be moving in the right direction

Think I know exactly how you feel Debs, yesterday while walking Rocky we came across what looked like an American Bull Dog x Shar Pei, Rocky had a good grumble at it anyway. I think it may have been an American Bull Dog that attacked me while out walking Rocky once and he has never forgotten it, he is now even more protective of me, bless him

Aww Rocky bless him for looking after his mum! I do think it's sweet that he is so protective of me but I don't want him to get in trouble now that the new dog laws are so blinking stupid so I'm trying to show him that I'm okay, and I'm capable of protecting him, you know?
