cowers after a night accident
hi im hoping someone might be able to shine some light on a way of not making my lola cower, now the thing is if she needs to go in the middle of the night then so be it,but she cowers in the morning like its a really bad thing shes done, but she never gets told of for it she gets asked whats she done but never in a threatening way ,but she seems to be associating it for when she used to do it in the day while getting house trained for which she was told of for doing it ect and it gets frustrating as she sits in corner and she takes some coaxing to come to me
anybody got any ideas on how to stop her cowering after a night time toilet accident

Re: cowers after a night accident
I'm not sure how old Lola is but they don't have full bladder control until around 6 months, Personally I wouldn't a ask her what's she's done just clean it up No fuss, clean the mess up with biological washing powder this breaks don't the enzymes that cause odour. Hope this helps.

Also agree with above, just clean it without any fuss, are you able to set an alarm so you can get up and let her out during the night until she is fully house trained ?

That's what i used to do Kathy and because at the time we lived in a flat with a shared garden I had to go out with him which did wonders for his training xx

Re: cowers after a night accident
If she cowers then she knows it is wrong but can't help it. You yourself call it an accident so "what have you done" is probably not helping.
I think you are going to bite the bullet and get up in the night to let her have a toilet break.
See what happens then. At least then you will know if it is just because she is so desperate she just has to do it no matter how guilty it makes her feel.
