Staffie grooming
Polly is moulting nicely at the moment and I want to brush her to get all the loose fur off. I have a dog brush for our other dogs but it is one of the type with lots of needle type bristles and it is far too harsh for Polly. I was just wondering what you use to brush your dogs.
I did try to use one of the rubber mits on Polly but it pulled against her coat and didn't really take anything off.

Re: Staffie grooming
I use a mit with knobbly rubber on one side & a velvety bit on the other. The knobbly side I use by rubbing his coat in circles to loosen the hair, then I brush him with a medium bristle brush & sklick him down with the velvety side of the glove.

I use a rubber brush although it doesn't seem to get rid of the hairs just push them to the bottom of her tail in a heap! Which makes more of a mess lol!

Ha ha, so I'm not the only one
I spent $20 on a brush 3 years ago when I first got Kuta and I have used it maybe twice, was a waste of money.

I've still got the one I bought for Kita 14 years ago, don't think I've used it since she was a puppy

Re: Staffie grooming
I brush mainly to stimulate the skin, it helps to bring the shine up. Also, I have to get rid of as much loose hair as poss as my daughter is slightly asthmatic & too much hair makes her wheeze!

Re: Staffie grooming
Thanks for all the replies, she might not have a lot of hair but she is managing to cover everything in it lol
I don't think I would immac her then I would have a real mess with suncream
I will try a bristle brush, she is getting very jealous of the attention the boys get when they are brushed

Re: Staffie grooming
I use one of these in small circles (think its for horses) and they seem to love it.
Then I use a soft horse 'body brush' to remove loose hair and shine them.

Re: Staffie grooming
Honestly, I don't brush any of my dogs as they both have very short hair so it pretty much would be pointless, and waste of money. Luckily Poppy has a shiny coat anyway, everyone always asks how she gets it. :-)

Re: Staffie grooming
Brushing helps remove dead hairs & stimulates the skin to make it healthier, improving circulation.
Oh, and they love it!

Re: Staffie grooming
I got a bristle brush for Polly and she loves it, the amount of hair it is getting out is surprising and her coat has always been lovely and shiny now she is gleaming, she loves being brushed although she got hold of the brush this morning and hid it in her cage
