Upset staff please help!!!
Hi all this is my fist post so I will try to give u guys all you need!!!
I have a 4yo staff he's a great loyal dog and I never had a problem with him until.........
The last month or so every time me and my wife leave the house he is very upset to the point he is panting dribbling and tearing at the gate.
He has put a hole in the gate now and has cut his nose on it (only minor but will keep an eye on him)
I don't care about my gate I just want to figure out why he is so stressed all of a sudden. He sleeps inside every night.... He is acting like there is fireworks or thunder.... (He's a bit sooky with that sort of thing)
Any advice would be appreciated
Thank you
Dave

Re: Upset staff please help!!!
Oh shame, I wonder if something happened when you were out to scare him like fireworks, loud noise, something like that? You may have to go back to basics like leaving him alone for a few minutes at a time and gradually building it up from there.

I agree with Lisa, back to basics reassuring him that when you leave you will return, I wonder what's spooked the poor lil guy

Poor boy. How long is he left on his own for? Has anything changed?

I agree with Lisa as well. ALso might help to leave a radio or TV on for the noise if possible.

JStaff has a great idea there - the radio or TV can be really comforting

Poor guy! I wonder what it was!
Maybe you could also try a Thundershirt or something similar to help with it? Someone we know got one for their Staff who would whine and make horrible noises even if he couldn't see her but with the shirt on he is fine.
I hope he returns to his normal self soon!
