Name: Cinders
Age: 8 – 9 months
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross
Can I live with Children: Yes – probably older children would be best as she is still young, nervous and excitable.
Can I live with cats: Yes
Can I live with other dogs: Is fine with foster family’s dog – has not met any other dogs yet.
Fostered In: South Wales
Other Information
Sweet Cinders just adores company. She wants to be constantly amused, touched and stroked. Her foster mum loves watching her play with her resident dog – who has taught her a lot about how to behave and be obedient. As with all pups, training requires a lot of repetition but Cinders is picking it up – she has learnt how to sit, give her paw and will run to the door when her foster mum indicates that she wants her to go outside.
When Cinders came into foster she was in a terrible state and had demodectic mange (see below for pictures)for which she is currently on weekly medication. Her skin is clearing and she will be able to go out for proper walks soon. She is playful and friendly with her foster family’s dog but has not been outside to meet other dogs yet – she gets on very well with the two resident cats. She hasn’t been on a lead yet and is still learning about basic puppy things such as toilet training and pinching things to chew!
She is happy to be left for short periods as long as you leave her toys to play with. She has not been tried in a crate yet. She is not destructive with furniture but like all puppies she will pinch small items to chew – a sock, a glove or a shoe.
She does like to take paper out of the waste paper bin and tear it up but nothing more major than that. She is absolutely marvelous at the vets and travels well. Fencing will need to be secure and high as she can jump quite high. She does guard a little with her toys, but not with food. She is quite nervous and craves affection – she wants to be touched all the time.
Cinders is sociable with both adults and children but due to her young age she is still excitable and somewhat nervous. She has not, however, shown any signs of aggression. Loud noises will startle her. Toilet training is a work in progress.
Cinders would settle in most home environments – as soon as she is able to go outside for a walk this will run some of her energy off.
Cinders is being fostered in South Wales and any potential adopters are expected to visit her there.

Cinders has enjoyed her first walk at the Country Park a special occasion as it was St. Davids Day. She met new dogs and people, and just wanted to explore, explore, explore. She looks forward to her daily walk and gets really excited when she sees her lead. Her recall is coming along nicely, she does get a bit excited but she is only a pup and is learning every day. Today was the first time she had been in the car and the destination was not the vets, she did cry at first because she thought she was seeing the nasty lady who gave a needle but once she seen all that grass and open space she was in her element. The daily walk has certainly helped to calm her at home as she is burning up her energy now. she welcomes all visitors with kissing to death. She is funny, if I am giving my dog a row she will bark at me and run, as if to say don't you shout at minnie, I'll stick up for you min. They play well together, no aggression, as cinders can be quite a ninja when she wants launching off the sofa onto minnies head, lucky shes a big dog. Photos of walk to follow. if anyone would like different photos of her please reply and I will get some that you would like.
