Different harness types - one better than the other?
So Marquez has a harness where you attach the lead at the middle of his back and for some reason he doesn't seem to walk well when we use it. When we walk him with his collar he always seems to pull so we're working on his heel command but I just don't like the way it pulls on his neck.
Question to those who have used both the typical harnesses and the ones like the EZYPET (I'm checking out their harness plate one)/figure 8 types - do your dogs walk better/prefer one type in particular or are they basically all the same?
Thoughts would be appreciated

a harness unless a specific no pull harness will do NOTHING to stop them pulling or playing up, in fact they give a dog more power to pull.
I do walk on harness because of the secure factor and potential damage to their necks, but i use the el perro ones, so the ring is in the middle of their back

We've just bought an EzyDog harness (in Australia) which has a D-ring in the back, we were always told chest is better but our 4 month old seems to walk well in this so we're sticking with it for now.

Ledger has an ezydog but I have been using that when we run so he knows he can pull a built when wearing that now. Also got a Julius K9 initially for flyball as the handle is very useful I have walked him in it tho and it was the best he's walked

We use one similar to the one in your photos and Bane walks well most of the time. We don't find there is a difference between walking him on his collar or harness, just that if he is pulling he really struggles in his collar as it puts so much pressure on his neck.

I'll keep on using it then and see if he improves as he gets used to it more

A Harness with a D Ring on the Chest and on the back is good for pulling.
You can then use a double ended lead with one end fixed to front and
the other to the back. I have a t touch one, think mekuti is another one,
but lots of the fleece ones give you an option to have a second ring on
front.

EzyDog harness used here too, we do tend to alternate between his collar and his harness though just to avoid the harness rubbing at his tummy or anywhere else.

I love the way those look and somehow look more supportive and secure than the one I currently have.

I have an ezydog chestplate one and 2 xtradog fleecy ones, I much prefer the Xtradog fleece and they rub less, as for walking Daisy walks exactly the same in both

Re: Different harness types - one better than the other?
Biscuit is so hard to control on just a harness! For the first year I had her I walked her on a head collar, with double lead attached to collar as well. Now that I've managed to train her she walks on a trixie harness (D ring in centre of back) and el perro collar with a double ended halti lead attached to both. She trots along beside me now, but she's older and a bit more settled now!

will say Chance has been using the el perro for a while now and no sign of it rubbing his chest or belly where it sits
