Small bumps on body? Hives?
Hi All,
Me and Boss Jr. here again
Has any staffie owners experienced their pooches suffering from small bumps on their bodys?
A couple of days ago Boss came out in lots of little bumps under his fur, there was no redness or itching and he has been wormed and de flead, there is none on his stomach either, just seems to be on the side of his back on both sides and his thighs.
He has been licking his feet which is generally does anyway and nothing has changed in the house
He came up in them a few days ago and 24 hours later they had vanished and then they appeared again yesterday and today he only has a few that are gradually fading. They don't seem to both him at all as he has not itched or scratched!
If he comes up in them again I will get a picture so you can see, but they have virtually vanished again now which makes me think he keeps coming into contact with something that doesn't agree with him. We haven't changed his food or given him anything any different either?

Re: Small bumps on body? Hives?
My last staffy used to do this, she had a lot of allergies and vet put it down to a skin reaction to something or other, she used to get redness on her tummy as well and on really bad reactions she would swell up, never bothered her, she ended up on doggy piriton daily and it stopped happening

Yep Vin had a real bad reaction had injections at the vet but piriton should do the trick. Piriton didn't touch Vins as it was so bad.

Re: Small bumps on body? Hives?
Suzy gets that kinda thing really bad. I thought it was a reaction but haven't found the cause especially since I moved house recently and it happened again there,it isn't season specific at first I thought it was like dog hay fever but it happened this winter too. However piriton sorts it out though. Funnily enough the first time it happened I went to the vets £40 quid for these 2 tablets. I didn't think any more to it till I spoke to my sister who's a vet nurse and she said its just piriton look at the,I guess its the scientific name, which I did exactly the same. So when ever it flares up I just give her piriton now which clears it right up

Re: Small bumps on body? Hives?
Yes my 4 year old boy suffers from allergies mainly from grasses, He rubs his belly raw at times, I spend a fortune on vet bills, and meds, antihistamine shots and prednisone tabs & spray + medicated shampoo. He has has a shocking reaction to an ant bite twice now, started off as little welts under skin that multiplied and covered his body after about an hour, I can laugh now as he looked just like a black porcupine. In hind sight I wish i had taken a pic. Our bitch never suffers from allergies but then again she is rather precious and unless at park or beach, tends to want to stay inside with us whereas Moses digs in the garden and lies in the bushes outside hence why the reactions to plants and bugs. Also don't use carpet cleaner, spray & vac, spray room deodorisers, or fly spray this makes our boy also break out.

Were they like this? Marco (and 2 of our other dogos) would get them if they were washed with the wrong shampoo or chicken. In this case, this is what happened one day after washing him with an oatmeal hypoallergenic shampoo. Belly was also free from bumps and no itching either.
