Anal glands

Since this afternoon Vin has had his tail down and everywhere he lies has been getting up and licking then drooling at the mouth. I have bathed his bum where there seems to be a secretion that's a tad brown and sticky and stinks fishy. Should I be worrying or not the glands don't look full but then I am no expert   

What relationship do you have with the vets? If its anal the nurse only needs to see and mine does that for free, nothing to worry about hun xx

I think that is what comes out of them is like, the vets always done Daisy's!

Aww poor vin must be uncomfortable, maybe give the vet a ring Hun xx

I have read if they are scared or stressed it can happen where the sphincter tenses. I have been leaving him out of his crate the last couple of days when I go out and wonder if he is scared not being in his safe haven when I am not there.   

Could be, change of routine x

I just go by he doesn't want to get by me like he is showing off.He has been asleep in his crate all night and that is so unusual of him he is usually on sofa by my feet

Give the vets a call and ask to speak to a nurse there, they will put you right if it is the glands that need expressing.

Seems to be ok today except I think he has lumber tail now! I think its from getting so wet the other day. My poor boy xxxx

Yeh Hayley better but as said I think he has lumber/cold tail bit better today hope he will be better again tomorrow, if no better by Monday will pop him to the vets xxx

Aww thanks for asking Aunty Hayley and Aunty Saz. Much better thanks girls tail almost back to normal now and glands are fine. I am convinced it was a stress thing. Vin sends lots of slobbers to you both xx

Yes Sue thanks, its still bald but all white and clear now.   

Oh good! Hopefully now its healed the hair will eventually grow back
