Anal glands Empty Anal glands

Hi ,not a nice topic but kain(thats my staffie) keeps getting this prob ,anybody know of a food that will make his stools firmer ,he is on hi life complete moist mince ,had him at the vets 3 times this year just to clean them out Blushing cheers martyn

dont know much about the subject but fish and chicken should make his poo harder. Also try some kibble or other dry food Smile

As Mazz says , have you tried kibble , I think it's very much a trial and error thing but go for the better brands

When my old boy got an anal gland infection my vet told me that carrot can help make them firmer, that's if he will eat them. I think food high in fiber as well helps a lot. Good luck

Clearing a dogs anal glands is something you can try for yourself, the video below should help. Warning , it's not for everyone and dont forget the rubber gloves, overalls and oxygen mask. Have fun:

looks like the kibble is working as he is not licking his butt so much Big Grin cheers
