nope not doing anything with my lead on
seeing the lead topic further down made me write this as its something ive noticed..ok so,ive always walked boss off the lead from the time he was allowed out.i take it with me obviously, but ive noticed if i walk him on the lead he wont do anything, not wee,not poop, does not even really sniff around. he holds it till we get home :/ on common sense i know this must be the walks i do with him and having him off the lead all the time, but the weathers been so bad here ive not gone to our usual spots,he just plods on like a person would walk to the shops.. should do this more to get him to doit,or isit really a bad thing he doesnt, but our spots are so good for dogs i dont really want him on the lead, its not like hes doing it in the house so it does not really bother me,i find it abit comical actually how he just strolls on like where we going and no way will i wee with a lead on im far 2 posh for that ha!!

Re: nope not doing anything with my lead on
Have you trained Boss to heel with head held high? Normally when you hold his head high, it means they not allowed to do poos or wees. I have trained Pixee to heel, but I still let her walk in front of me when possible, and its then she will have a wee, or poo if theres somewhere she likes the smell of as such. I use a flexi lead which allows me to control how far I let her walk in front of me as such and safety too. She does do more wees off lead.

Daisy is always reluctant to do her business when she has a coat on, random!

Re: nope not doing anything with my lead on
It depends on your situation really! For example if you can safely walk him off lead around your area and there are no roads that cars use, he's sociable and you're not planning to move then I any see it being a problem, either way I'm sure if you were only walking him on lead for 5 minutes to the park and then letting him off he could wait! But say you were to move to a more built up area with busy roads etc and had to walk him on lead it could become problematic!

Hes not taught to heel,i dont feel the need to do that,my main concern wi boss is that he returns to me when i say and he does,if i moved to a built up area i would drive to places to go with open fields,as i say im not worried i just find it so odd,but amusing aswell, yes funny buggers xx

Darcy likes to free when she goes and is exactly like daisy if she's got a coat on.

Frosty will only go when he is free of his lead as well. If he really has to wee, he sniffs forever with his lead on before going. Otherwise, he has no inhibition. Must just be the feeling of being under control that keeps them from wanting to relieve themselves.
