Ella, it looks gooood! You've just reminded me that I haven't made this for my two in ages. I feel like their drug dealer when it comes out the oven - they go mad for it I'd best get the liver out to defrost and get baking. Well done
I use the same recipe and swop the liver for tinned sardines sometimes, also goes down a treat.

My 2 hate liver and any other organ, but go mad for dehydrated liver so Loki may like it cooked

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
We just made one as Brutus is a little fussy with liver and have a heap in the deep freeze. I'm not sure if he knows it is for him or not, but he hasn't left the kitchen and is sat staring at it whilst it cools.

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
Well he finally got some cake in the end. Given we were late for his b'day, he got two pieces. Scoffed them down and is still sniffing about the kitchen for more this morning.

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
The liver cake looks amazing I'm going to make some today! Do you normally just give your dog a piece of the cake or do you chop up smaller and give it as smaller treats? I'm guessing either will be ok, just wondered what you guys who have already made it do?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
Good luck with your liver cake I give darcy small cubes of it, either fresh and keep it in the fridge or you can freeze it and give it frozen, it last longer that way.

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
You can give slices or bits if you want but I cut it into cubes and then stick it in the freezer, I then just feed it frozen to the boys but you can just keep it in the fridge

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
Just made this today, finally. Suzy loves it! She was asleep upstairs when I started making it then suddenly appeared in the kitchen when she had noticed the smell! I just gave her a few small pieces and she was crazy for it, will freeze the rest and she can try it frozen next time.
Thanks for sharing.

How much does the portions given yield Ella , is it plenty or do you double up for a bigger one

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
ella wrote:It makes about 900g of cake
whats that in real money ??? making it tomorrow anyway , got free range eggs , 4 cloves of garlic (will that be too much ?? especially at kissy time ?? ) and using Ox Liver , for a mo I thought they only had chicken livers in Morrisons but the nice butcher man helped me out

Re: My awesomely amazing liver cake
It makes a big cake
I use about 4-5 cloves per cake so thats fine
Oh make sure to cut up the liver before putting it in the blender as it has a film around it that can burn the motor out if it wraps around the blade!
