Hi All ,
As you may or may not know Roxi hurt her leg just over a week ago , her progress to recovery has been slow (ish) , what i cant understand is this ;

She has recovered sufficuently to be seemingly fine in the house , she runs around , leaps and bounds , changes direction quickly without too much trouble , which i must add has put a smile on my face .... This is the thing as soon as she goes outside she immediatly pulls her leg off the floor and walks on 3 , can anyone shed any light on this , seems quite strange :-)

It could just be that if Roxi hurt her leg when she was outside that she remembers this (in her funny doggy way) and thinks ooh, outdoors hurts and "saves" the leg that got hurt.

Has your vet looked at her leg (I gather it's a hind leg) and discounted a slipping patella?

Yes , i took her to the vet the morning after she had done it , yes its a hind leg hurt by jumping up for a stick and landing on it funny , the vet said she could feel nothing major but there was some swelling round her knee , painkillers and anti inflams were given and she has got more or less back to normal , inside the house but outside is a different story , i thought the same as you and i think its just going to take time.

I had exactly this with Daisy, she ripped one of the nails of a back paw and was limping for a few days so had complete rest. She was OK after about a week but for a couple of weeks after that every time she went on the grass in the garden she would not put that paw down, very weird. I wondered if it was just habit?
