Dogs seeing colours?
Weemo, my OAP staffy, loves traveling in the car.
When visiting my mum at Christmas, I parked on the road opposite her house while there.
In total, there were three blue cars (mine is blue) and five of other colour all huddled together in an overgrown parking bay of sorts.
Coming back from a walk, I let Weemo off his lead as we approached the house and he proceeded to jump up at the boot or hatchback of each of the blue cars, but paid no attention at all to the other colours.
Coincidence or clever staffy?

This would explain why Tia is going crazy for my daughters Cookie Monster cuddly that she got for Xmas...she usually ignores the kids toys and knows that they're not for her. However, she's been looking suspiciously at cookie monster from the moment he was unwrapped!!

Re: Dogs seeing colours?
I'm certain dogs can see the colour green too, when Rocky was at the rescue centre all the staff/workers there wear green uniforms. When we bought Rocky home and put our green waterproof coats on he went all soppy, like seeing an old friend.

Re: Dogs seeing colours?
They can see certain colours but not as many as we can, they have two cones instead of three like us. also they have rods for detecting movement at a far greater detail than humans and pupils that dilate and mirror back any light at night time using it twice. thats why you get robodog eyes in pictures of dogs at night unlike the human red eye in the same situation.
