Puppy Colours, please help!
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and am a small breeder in Australia.
My two dogs Savvy (red female) and Prime (black Brindle) shocked me two days ago when their litter was born
They had 9 pups and 5 are varying shades of black brindles
BUT!! 4 of the pups are a blue/fawn colour I think. I am unfamiliar with this colouring all of the other litters I have had (from a different breeding pair) have produced blacks, pieds and brindles.
I cannot tell yet whether they are blue or a very soft red colour(is this fawn?) they look blue and soft red depending on the light. Please help am floundering here.
They are only a couple of days old. Will there be much change in their coat? If so will it turn darker or lighter or redder or bluer?
Any help you can give would be appreciated.
Cheers
Tori

Re: Puppy Colours, please help!
Hi ya Tori, welcome to the forum
I'm not sure about colours to be honest but I have read that red/blue combination isn't that unusual and could go either way as they grow. If I remember correctly, red is a desirable colour

They sound like they are blue brindles (pics would help).
If you look back through the sire's pedigree you will probably find at least one colour dilute in the ancestry!
