Unusual things to be scared of/nervous about Empty Unusual things to be scared of/nervous about

Post by asa-james Fri Dec 27 2013, 09:24

We all know the SBT is a brave, fearless breed, but what slightly odd things are your pooches scared off? Other than obvious things like fireworks, I'm talking the real trivial things.

Lola doesn't like the snap of a Christmas cracker. From three rooms away.
Shotguns used by the farmers (the nearest farm is a mile across the fields)
The coffee percolator when it burbles.
Any loud voice, ever.
Hoovers.
Water (from a hose, shower, rain, puddles....)

Lily doesn't like those sand bags that hold road signs down. They don't like shouting either. Lola is scared of carrier bags and sun cream, if you open it she smells it and does a runner  biggrin

Squeaky toys. Just remembered that one. If it squeaks, she runs and hides.

The hoover, the hairdrier, bin bags, things that arnt there (ghosts maybe!), Composts bins (the ones that look like darlecks!) Sometimes normal bins too, giant inflateable snowmen, sometimes phone boxes. She can be a very jumpy little thing!

Shouting, squeaks/whistles, fireworks, blue signs (especially if they move) and randomly last week recently cut down trees they had to be barked at and stalked gingerly

tessa hates it when the young couple next door are arguing (it happens a lot). she cries and needs a cuddle but as she is a rescue dog this may be connected to her past life.

Street drainage holes. He will run in traffic and pull against his lead to go in the opposite direction when we near one. When I first got him we were in my cul du sac and he went near one (I had to run and get his little inquisitive butt) and I think he got afraid that he could fall through. Then he could...now NO WAY he's too big. Doesn't stop him from being absolutely fearful of them.

Rocky hates to hear people shouting and arguing, good job that's one thing hubby and me never do.

Rocky took offence to a trailer recently which was parked down the lane where we go for a walk and proceeded to tell it off with a woof.

Tedster took offence at a trailer once as well and felt it needed to be barked at.

Add to this

Static mobile home on a lorry in front of us in the car - That had to be barked and growled at.

Random plastic bags.

Lots of other animals on the TV

one particular tree in the park.

Cars parked where he thinks they should not be

Traffic cones

Some rubbish bins but not all

And...............

The rotary washing line in the garden. If his boomer ball hits the base of it I have to go and get it back.
