Sweet potato chews!

Just slice them and then bake for 3 hours (!!!) it drys them out so they're similar in chewiness to rawhide, without the nasty chemicals and last for 3 weeks in the fridge Smile

Better to use baking paper but i've got none so used tin foil, just turn more to prevent sticking!

Size wise it depends on the dog really, my friends yorkie had tiny slices, but for Biscuit I sliced it lengthways and kept them as big as possible! Should keep her occupied with the lessened walks!

That's okay just realised I didn't add it, very low temp! As low as possible, pref no higher than 100 x

Just found this, http://www.17apart.com/2012/02/how-to-make-sweet-potato-dog-chew.html :)shows you what they'll turn out like! I've made mine much thicker than that though, she'd get through those in a second!

Edit: this states 8 hours cooking, but another says 3 hours, if in doubt just up the temp a little to bake a little faster! My friend did hers in 3 x

Biscuit just tried one.. definitely not like rawhide Sad

More crunchy but didn't last long, she loved them! Is sat where they're cooling, very patiently just wagging her tail lol! I tried one of the squishier ones too Big Grin
