Coco's broken tooth
Coco's tooth has finally been removed.
Got her in to the vet's by 8:30. She knew something was up and seemed very nervous.
We left her there until the call to came pick her up which was at 5:15.
All went well. 1 Hour to remove the tooth and tag team with 2 vets to get it done.
She was quite wonky and not herself that evening and took a few days to get her back to being a typical staffie.
Because of her missing tooth we gave her a wet dog sausage type food for her first 3 meals but that gave her the runs so decided to feed her her usual dry food. All went well with chomping it up.
She's doing a bit of licking her lips but doesn't seem to be in pain although I'm still giving her 1/2 a pain killer tablet at night.
We will now have to be careful with what she plays with and chews while she's outside. It's a bit hard picking up all the sticks in the yard as we are on 20 acres. (I don't want her breaking any of her other teeth!)
We've take her balls away for the first few days and she seems to be missing them. When she goes outside first thing she does is scout around for them. Poor baby!
The whole procedure ended up costing $817.

Wow! Glad Coco is healing well, think Ledgers two tooth removal cost about £150 all in but insurance covered half of that

Re: Coco's broken tooth
Lucky you.
My RSPCA insurance that costs $43 per month does not cover dental. What a rip off it is but with a staffy I feel more secure knowing that she will be covered in the event of an accident or illness.
Maybe I should move to the UK? Would be a lot cheaper

Yeah I have insurance more for the third party, my vet advised me to check as a lot of policies don't cover dental. I was with Sainsburys at the time and a tooth break was covered as accidental damage but only as long as the vet confirmed that the dog has annual check ups
