What age do puppies start to loose teeth.
Poppy is 16 weeks tomorrow and she has started to chew on anything in sight. Tonight i have given her a frozen flannel which she is loving but there are small patches of blood on it. Is this a sign that she is about to loose her puppy teeth?

This may well be the start of her teething, are you able to check her mouth ? She is about at the right age for it.

Will have a look in her mouth later when she is chilled out on my lap.

Fowl breath, yes! and will continue for a month and a half...
Thank God! He just got through the process and he is going to be 6 months in couple of days, Dec. 13 to be exact.

Yes, any time from about 4 months old. If she's anything like Dempsey, she'll swallow them all!

Bane is going through it now! Started a couple of weeks back when we noticed one of his front teeth looked wonky! Next day it was gone, and since then I think all his front ones have too...not found any though! Maybe we'll get lucky when his fangs fall out!
Quite a few of his soft teddy toys have little blood spots on too, I guess it's normal for this time?

Re: What age do puppies start to loose teeth.
The majority of pups sail through the teething process, although they will want to chomp and chew on hard things to aid the process. A spot of blood is not unusual, although nothing excessive as the root of the tooth is absorbed back into the system. Most puppy teeth are swallowed (extra calcium!) and I have only ever found one little tooth on the floor which has been wrapped and preserved for posterity (soppy me!)

Sounds like she's teething and will probably start losing them soon, I was quite luck we've got a few teeth
