Starting to loose teeth!
Hi' everyone just wondering at what age do they loose ther puppy teeth! I have noticed a few gone from top & bottom! I dont know his exact DOB because he wasn't reg! The so called breeder told me he was 8 weeks but after 3 or 4 days ifound he wasn't ateing so took him 2 vets & he told me that the pup was't even wean'd! Srry for the rant but maybe that had caused his dicky tum a while back! He's now fine! I shud of known better buying from a dodgy breeder but hi' we all make mistakes! On the upside he is with a family that adore him! Most of the time!! DEPENDING ON WAT HE'S DOING. But i have read on here sum were that frozen carrots were agreat treat! My god i nvr seen a dog enjoy them like he does! Do u have any othr tips!

Re: Starting to loose teeth!
Anything frozen! The cold helps to numb the gums. A tough strip of frozen leather would also be good. Nylabones are useful as well, but don't buy the inferior ones because bits can be chewed off them.
If he's really sorry for himself you can also get doggie teething gel from the larger pet stores.

Re: Starting to loose teeth!
Nylabones are really strong bone-shaped chew toys. When they're chewed the ends go sort of rough which helps to clean their teeth, but they don't break and as long as you get the right size, they don't get lumps chewed off them! Any large pet store should sell them, or you can get them on line from any pet site or amazon.

Re: Starting to loose teeth!
Bella turned 15 weeks on tuesday and she has just started to lose a couple of teeth, one of the bottom ones is squinty. Going to try the frozen carrots with her, she has taken a liking to the wooden legs of the computer chair. Its going to collapse one of these days, probably when Its me sitting on it

i had a wooden computer chair which memphis would chew when he was teething(no matter how many chew toys he had) so i got a aluminium framed one which has little dints in it from him still chewing it lol

Just my 2cents worth, I give mine Lamb shanks they are not too big and easy to chew...she just loves this while teething.

Paddy chews the bottom of our pedestal fan (metal frame) but also his toys. When he's frantic we give him ice cubes. He loves them
Word of warning - we tried freezing potato. The gas that came out of his bottom was toxic. Don't try it!

Cali had a frozen ham bone and to be honest it was the happiest moment of my life when he lost those razor sharp teeth

If the potato was raw, that's why! Raw potatoes aren't good for dogs (or humans, for that matter!).

Sheer bliss when they've lost all those awful razor sharp needles!
