Weeing in his bed? Empty Weeing in his bed?

Post by kandydragons Sun Dec 08 2013, 11:50

So, Roman is pretty much house trained now at 14 weeks. yesterday was our best day with only 2 wees inside and to be fair one of them was my fault as I took my eye off him.

He has his crate now to use overnight and he has taken to it like a duck to water however..... the last 2 nights he has "wet the bed".

I don't know why?! I take him outside at midnight for a wee then its straight to bed. My alarm is set for 7am to take him out again unless he wakes before that (Im a light sleeper). The 1st night this worked a charm. The last 2 nights however he hasn't woken me at all, I have woken him at 7am to take him out and have found his bed is wet.

Why would he be doing this??

Weeing in his bed? Empty Re: Weeing in his bed?

It can take upto 6 months for him to have full control of his bladder so perhaps he just can't hold it in, even though he did on the first night, I used to set my alarm for 4am and get up let Darcy out for a wee then straight back to bed no fuss, after a week or so I just set the clock 15 mins later 4.15/4.30/4.45 and so on until I got to 7.30am I know it's a pain but perhaps you could give it a try until he's learnt to control his bladder, hope this helps Smile

Harley is 5 and half months now nd we have always got up in night to let him outside, some times we had a wee in his crate other times not he never had a specific routine for times or why he would wee, we gave 4 hrs ever side of being let out then started to leave longer, the last few days I have had to drag him outside for a wee as he is sleepy and warm and doesn't want to go out, so last night let him sleep thru and no accidents, fingers crossed same happens tonight, I just think it takes time and it clicks for them one day, good luck x

Ok thank you, I shall try setting another alarm and seeing if that helps. He is just so quiet about it!
