Sardines? Empty Sardines?

I have a tin of sardines in sunflower oil- when feeding it with Orijen dried complete, do I drain or combine the sardines with the oil.

Lucy loved her sardines.
One minute her meal was in her bowl, the next it was empty and she was sitting next to it waiting for it to be filled up again.Surprised

" Sorry sweetheart, you will have to wait until breakfast "
