Welcome Mainie!
How long has your dog-walker been walking your dog? And was he normally happy with him/her previously?
Sounds like something is worrying your dog - maybe the recent fire works?
I'm presuming that your dog-walker has told you about the huffing and the eye-contact; does he do it with you when you walk him?
Sorry about all the questions!

Re: Worried
Maybe he just got a cold and wasn't feeling too well?
See how he goes in the next few days, and do let us know how he gets on

Re: Worried
Is there any way you could go with them one day to see exactly what she means?
Eye contact can either be a challenge or a means of getting attention.

Eye contact is very important to dogs and is often misunderstood by humans.jmk wrote:Sorry to sound Daft but whats wrong with eye contact my Dog looks at me all the time when Im talking to him so on ?
If you call a well balanced dog to sit and he sits and stares into your eyes, generally, he is waiting for the next instruction or waiting for you to lead the situation.
If you call your dog to sit and he 'defies' you while staring into your eyes, then this can be seen as a challenge to your authority over him and should be corrected.
This is why children (and some adults) should be taught never to stare at dogs.
