toilet training again
Hi again
Just looking for some advice really, after carefully watching Harley last few days it is clear that he doesn't seem to know he shouldn't wee his bed in cage, he seems to wake up straight away and do a wee In there he is let out throughout night but by morning does a wee x I watched him wake up other day yawn n do a wee then stretch all before I got to cage, he nearly 4 months old, ny advic. On what to do as he has very few accidents in house and is happy to do business in garden and on walks, they say dogs don't like to lie in wetness Harley doesn't seem to Care, I think he just doesn't under stand. Thanks

Re: toilet training again
What are you doing about toilet training during the day? When's his last drink?
I wouldn't be over concerned yet, as pups don't have full control over their bladder/bowel until at least 6 months.

Re: toilet training again
I'm sure he will get to grips very soon with the whole toilet training thing. Please try not to be overly worried right now.

Re: toilet training again
Don't make a fuss if he wees his crate. Just ignore it and take him out. But you will need to clean his crate thoroughly after every accident to get rid of the scent or he will return to that spot. As said before he is still a baby and he will catch on as they really don't like to mess their bed.

Re: toilet training again
At 16 weeks our 2 were always having 'accidents' - don't worry. Chloe still has the occasional one if it's pouring down outside (she's a fair weather girl)

Re: toilet training again
I think, from the way you describe it, that he just doesn't know he's doing it! It's an instinctive reaction by a pup to pee as soon as it wakes up, and he just doesn't have the control at the moment to stop himself.
Give him another month or so & I'm sure he'll start to gain more control.
