should i feed my pup wet or dry
My puppy has been on hills science dried and is having skin problems I have read on internet that Hills isn't a good food so I am thinking of changing. Im looking for recommendations of which brand I should feed and wet or dry. Just need to help her the best way I can with her skin

Please see our list of recommended dry foods below. If you decide to change foods please do so gradually over the course of 7 - 10 days to avoid an upset tummy:

I'd feed dry. Wet food is about 80% water so you have to feed a lot more to get the right nutrition.
Some people like to add a small amount of wet to a good dry food to make it a bit more interesting. If you want to do that, try the trays of Wainwrights or Naturediet etc, as they are better quality.

Royal Canin is ok, but very expensive. There are just as good, but cheaper alternatives!

Re: should i feed my pup wet or dry
I feed wainwrights and a generic wet food just to add a spoonful to the dry to make it a little more interesting. My girl eats it all up fine.

James Wellbeloved certainly is and I think Fish4dogs is as well. There are also slightly more pricey foods such as Eden and Millie's Wolfheart - both of which are grain free - Millie's especially has extremely good reviews.janmc wrote:Thanks do you know if they are grain free I am trying anything to get lola from scratching Im just going to get the virgin coconut oil to try and soothe herDarcy-may wrote:How about James wellbeloved, fish4dogs these are both good mid priced foods

Fish4dogs is a private company. It's Fishmongers Finest that's the Pets at Home version!Darcy-may wrote: fish 4dogs is a pets at home brand which is grain free and wainwrights have grain free available too

Re: should i feed my pup wet or dry
I have changed Jasmine over to Eden from Fish4dogs. Both very good, although Eden is FAB and works out cheaper for me as I no longer have to put a topper on as she LOVES Eden and it is actually cheaper (especially as I don't have to mix it with nature diet). I use freshly boiled water on the dried Eden, leave it to cool at room temp, keep mixing it and it forms a sort of pastey gravy and the kibble softens. She eats it in two seconds flat! I also mix it with raw egg sometimes, and occasionally raw mince x

Re: should i feed my pup wet or dry
Its best to cook the mince if your mixing it with dry as raw meat and processed dry digest a different rates so can upset the tum if fed together Or alternatively, raw mince for breakfast and dry food for tea.

Re: should i feed my pup wet or dry
Yes sorry, I didn't explain that properly. I give it to her seperate from her dried food. I just chuck it in her bowl when I use the mince for our tea:-)
